Two 120-Slot Avalon Containers Heat a Manitoba Greenhouse

Project Description
Deploying our avalon hydro mining container allowed an agricultural operator in Manitoba, Canada, to co-locate 2.4MW of Bitcoin mining with commercial greenhouses. Facing high boiler fuel costs during prairie winters, the farm integrated mining thermal output into its agricultural heating loop. We delivered 2 units of the 1.2MW 20HQ model to house 240 Avalon miners.
Each 120-slot container sits on a concrete pad paired with an exterior dry cooler. High-efficiency internal plate heat exchangers pull heat off the miners, pumping 75°C+ hot water through insulated lines directly into greenhouse tomato bays. During summer, automated three-way bypass valves route fluid back to the dry cooler.
The dual-container installation reached full commissioning in four weeks. Operating at a ninety percent heat recovery rate, the system supplies continuous heating water to the crop bays, cutting annual commercial boiler fuel bills by $850,000 while keeping 240 Avalon A1566HA machines hashing without thermal downtime.
