Six 120-Slot Avalon Hydro Containers Tied to Oslo District Heating

Project Description
Deploying our avalon hydro cooling container allowed a municipal energy operator in Oslo, Norway, to connect 7.2MW of computing load into the city’s district heating network. To qualify for clean-energy carbon tax exemptions, the facility had to deliver high-temperature output directly. We delivered 6 units of the 1.2MW 20HQ model to house 720 Avalon miners.
Each 120-slot container arrived with internal heat exchangers designed for continuous 75°C water delivery. Crews set the enclosures on concrete plinths and welded output flanges directly into the municipal district heating mains. This plug-and-play hookup cut on-site capital expenditures by twenty-five percent compared to custom commercial boiler facilities.
Energized across six weeks, the 7.2MW facility operates at 99.8% system reliability. Pumping 75°C fluid directly into the public heating grid unlocked full exemption from local carbon taxes, providing a continuous thermal baseload for nearby homes while maintaining full hashrates across all 720 Avalon hydro machines.
